Victor Hugo
Statue in Candie Gardens to the French writer, famous for Les Miserables, The Toilers of the Sea and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. He was an exile on Guernsey (1855-70) after Napoleon III's coup d'état at the end of 1851.
