The island of Sark is renowned for being traffic-free. Only tractors and horse-drawn vehicles are permitted on the island.
Nevertheless, there is a bus service which operates up and down the steep hill which connects the village, around 100 metres above sea level, with the harbour. The bus is a trailer pulled by a tractor.
