WV7053 : Le Dolmen de Couperon

Le Dolmen de Couperon
A Late Neolithic gallery grave built around 5,000 years ago.
Formed from a rectangular chamber within an enclosure of upright stones.
The latter is thought to have originally formed the edge of a long low mound that covered the monument.
The site has been badly excavated and restored both in 1868 and 1919.
