WV6048 : National Cycle Network milepost at St Aubin

National Cycle Network milepost at St Aubin
The National Cycle Network consists of over 20,000 kilometres of lightly trafficked roads and traffic-free paths throughout the United Kingdom. A small isolated fragment of the network can be found on Jersey. This milepost at the western end of an excellent cycle path along the sea front from St Helier is one of 1000 mileposts donated by Royal Bank of Scotland to the National Cycle Network project. There are four designs of milepost - by an Englishman, a Welshman, a Scotsman and an Irishman. The example seen here is the "Scottish" design, "The Cockerel" by Ian McColl.
