This is a W Sisson of Gloucester inverted vertical compound (enclosed) engine. It is No. E5510 built in 1953. It has cylinders 14" & 20" bores x 8" stroke. It developed 125 kW from the attached Lancashire Dynamo & Crypto alternator.
This is one of three stationary steam engines on display in the museum. There is a duplex steam winch in the open also.
