WV3276 : La Gran'mere du Chimquiere and St Martin's church

La Gran'mere du Chimquiere and St Martin's church
One of a pair of carved granite menhirs, the other at Castel church. Both are about 4000 years old, but this one at the entrance to the churchyard at St Martin has been re-carved, possibly in Roman times. The statue was broken in half in the C19 and is now held together with a metal spike Link
.
The church is much younger, although it has its origins in 1048 and was built in the C13. The dedication is to St Martin de la Bellouse.
