WV3378 : Victoria Tower, St Peter Port

Victoria Tower, St Peter Port
Victoria Tower was built shortly after the visit by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1846. The grey gun situated in front of the tower is one of two World War 1 guns situated in the park. These guns were buried prior to the Germans occupying Guernsey in 1940 and excavated in 1978. The tower is open to the public and the key can be obtained from the nearby Museum & Art Gallery.
